“Not-So” Unique Wordpress Plugin #9 - Subscribe To Comments

Mar.22, 2008
0

Meh.What I can tell you about this plugin is that it allows the people to subscribe to the “Post Comments” and will receive the next comments that other people do on that pertaining post in their emails.

Now, unless you are having an open discussion about something and are curious about what other people might say, this plugin might not be for you and your visitors because nobody really likes their email inbox filling up with messages such as…

Great Post! Keep it up!

Your Completely wrong, this blog sucks.

I agree with you, I will continue to come back to your blog.

In conclusion, I will probably stop using this plugin because there is simply no need for it on my blog. The download link is available here if you are interested. What about yours? Do you use open discussions and subscribe to that posts feed?

Thanks for visiting my blog! You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you will be able to get these daily blog tips for free!

Blog Architecture - How “Sturdy” Is Yours?

Colosseum In Rome

My Personal Photograph Of The Colosseum In Rome

While trying to decide a topic to talk about after I came back from my vacation in Europe, I thought I should include a picture or two that I have taken along with it. So I decided to use some pictures from the Colosseum to construct an idea that has been stirring about in my head for the past 20 minutes. What are you going to be blogging about in 1 month? Is your niche sturdy enough to last those crucial starting months?? Literally, only time will tell.

A lot can be learned from the past… such as that the Colosseum took 10 years to build and used precision mathematics to create archways to support such a large weight. Which could be related about how you are building your blog with content and readers in a sense. Are you going to be changing your topic once you run out of ideas?

Although creating a blog only takes a couple of minutes, you could be short sighting yourself out of some great long term readers that would only enjoy your articles if you were talking about that certain one. In Basic Terms: If you can only think of 30 ideas to post about for your specific topic, perhaps you may want to broaden it and then have more.

SpamThis handy little plugin allows you to use your MailTo: links without having to worry about spam. By converting those links in the hexidecimal codes, Spammer bots will not be able to harvest your emails and spam the living daylights out of you! I’m so confident in this plugin that:

[Link Removed, Damn you, Evil Spam Bots!]

This plugin is available here and I recommend it for everyone that would like to not worry about being spammed if you use a MailTo: link in your blog.

*Update* - After foolishly trusting my email with this plugin, It failed miserably and as pointed out through arnold’s comment.. It does not work for RSS feeds…

Does that mean I have spammers that have subscribed to my feed? OH THE IRONY!

Unique Wordpress Plugin #7 - No Ping Wait

Mar.12, 2008

No Ping Wait is a plugin that lets you ping various services (Technorati, Google, Feedburner) instantly when you finish a post and publish it on your blog. Wordpress does this, but usually waits an hour before doing so. With this plugin you can bypass this wait time and publish article on all of those pinging sites. Which ultimately results in more traffic…

The download link is available here, and enjoy your march break! See you later.
