Conducting an Experiment – Advertising And Guest Posts

I’ve decided to try out a new form of promotion for my blog. It’s called advertising on the sidebar of other blogs. I bought an ad already on Dablogger.com today for $7 (Which I might add is a pretty good deal). I’m going to see how much promotion the advertisements and guest posts actually give to the blog.. noting the subscribers and traffic that is currently running through the site.

I’m currently hunting the blogosphere to find great deals on ad spaces, so if you know of any, comment below and I’ll take a little look.

Another strategy to increase blog promotion throughout the internet is guest posting. This method I think is a great way to promote your blog as you have the X amount of subscribers on the certain blog reading your post, along with any traffic that the blog post brings in from Social Media and Search Engines.

If you need some guest posts on your blog, and want me to write one, please leave a comment or contact me :)

At the end of the month I’ll have a full detailed report that is only available to my subscribers, so if you want to get updated and see how these two methods of promotion do, subscribe today!

Thanks for the compliments, Brad. I was worried that the avatar here is too big it may scare away some people but I was flattered it didn’t.You have a great blog too, Brad. I almost lost yours on my radar for a while. God’s willing I’ll be more active in your community from now on.Yan

Hi Brad,Though my blog is mostly a personal blog under my real name I’d still love it if you wrote a guest post, perhaps on the pros and cons of blogging under your real name? Or any topic you choose.P.S. I sell 125 x 125 ad space right at the top right of my blog for $10 a month, it’s not a super crazy awesome deal but it’s still relatively cheap. I’m always looking for new sponsors there too, perhaps you could write a guest post about finding relevant sponsors for personal blogs? Either way, let me know!

@ Brad: Followed the cookie crumbs from Yan’s site Blog for Beginners. I held a very similar promotional gig. I’m a big fan of sharing what you learn so I offered my readers to spend my money for me. I asked that they submit sites that I should advertise on and I’ll post the results for all to see.The theory was that new bloggers who maybe wanted to advertise, but couldn’t be 100% positive about the ROI… would then have a working model. Essentially, I’d experiment with who’s site offered the most bang for the buck. It was one of my first posts on Piss Biscuit so it didn’t fair out to well… a little lack luster in the comments section. I guess it might be a good time to revive the old idea in the future. Thanks for a like minded read, I’ll drop you in my feed reader!
