Shift Into Your Top Blogging Gear.. Its Tuesday

What have you lined up for your Monday or Tuesday post? These two days (in my opinion) are the BEST days to post your pillar content (What “holds up” your blog for your readers and new visitors) as then you have the entire week to post other articles.

It allows your readers the entire week to see the new post that you have written and it can give you time to generate a new idea for some great articles. I don’t really consider this a pillar article as it’s just a conversation starter… Bringing me to the obvious question:

I had recently switched to scheduling posts ahead so I may become better at targeting them on specific days… So far no luck. I don’t really see difference between days of week. Maybe fluctuation is simply too low to notice with my traffic.

Monday is my best day by a good amount but Wednesday comes in second. I usually try to tweak my blog depending on the day, more light and fun on Fridays and more serious pillar type articles on Mondays. Now, is there a best time to post? Should we schedule our pillar posts for say Monday @ 5AM or do we wait a little bit to let everyone shake off the weekend first?

I agree with Adam, that monday seems to be the best post day. 5am might be a bit early, I usually try to go for a late morning EST, say around 11, that way you’ve got East Coast folks starting to think about lunch, and West Coast peeps still working on their second coffee (and looking for an interesting read).

    Hey Brad,

I’ve been working on my own “posting sweet spot” the last few weeks. I have to agree that Monday and Wednesday tend to be the best posting days (in my experience). However, I think it would be best to post the “pillar” posts on Wednesday (if you are only posting twice per week). The reason is to extend the legs of that “important” post. If you post it on Wednesday, it gives your readers the rest of the week to read it. Plus, if you are posting at places with CommentLuv (like your blog — thanks!) then it will naturally show up more times as you comment on other blogs.

@Adam — I’ve been considering this too. I’m hoping to get to the point where I actually post the night before. That way the post will catch the early risers who read blog posts with their morning coffee.

Now I’ve just got to find a way to stick the schedule… lol

I’ve been reading posts on this topic. Some say Tues, Wed, and Thursday, but never on Monday. You suggest Monday is the best day. Here’s what everyone seems to agree on: Fridays are not the best days. Today’s Friday so I’m leaving the office!
