I’m sure that a stripped down “Whitespace” theme would load faster than a graphic intense custom “portfolio” theme with many images.

I’ve also noticed that the type of web server you are on can affect how fast your blog loads.

Just when you think you got it all fixed, along comes a new algorithm!

Having said that, I feel quite frustrated when a blog page takes a long time to load especially if they have video/audio in them. I wonder if certain wordpress themes make it slower.

I am looking forward to learn about ways to speed it up.

Hi Diane,

That all depends on what your blog is about. A resource blog with lots of screenshots may take longer to load due to the images than a blog about writing expertise (just text).

You should aim for as low as possible by removing unnecessary plugins and javascript, as well as combining your stylesheets into one file.
