Every browser gives its users the ability to bookmark sites that they enjoy to save it for later time. So it would make sense if somebody liked your blog that they would bookmark it and visit another time. The real question is How could you separate your bookmark without using titles so that people could easily find it? The answer is a little thing called icons and can be easily integrated into your website with a few simple steps.

To create an icon you need a picture that you will want to use to go beside your bookmark. That I cannot do for you and you will have to do yourself trying to find something that reflects what your blog is about.  Once you have that done, you need to go to a site and convert it from a picture file into an icon file. Here is a direct link to enable you to do that. Once you have your icon file you need to find some image host that will host it for you. Here is a list of 11 image hosts that you can put your icon file on to.

Now comes the easy part!! All you have to do is find where you find the link where you published your icon and using the given code below you can add it into your header of your website.

<link href=’YourURLforyourIcom.ico’ rel=’shortcut icon’ type=’image/x-icon’/>

and

<link href=’YourURLforyourIcom.ico’ rel=’icon’ type=’image/x-icon’/>

Once all of that is done you have an icon and now people be easily able to distinguish your site from the rest of their bookmarks. The icon image will appear in their bookmark area AS WELL as beside the URL in the navigation bar at the top of your browser! If you need any help with this, leave a comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

    Agent 001 did you add both tags up above? IE 7 should show your fav icon. It just waits till the page is fully loaded before it puts it up is all.
