Unfortunately for us bloggers, that category of “Unnecessary Spending” is where we fall into. So, should we just shrink away and wait for the economy to bounce back?

No Thanks.

If your having some trouble filling those advertising spots on your blog or website, Here is a guide of ways you can fill them, while benefiting your website and internet appearance.

Ways To Fill Your Advertising Space In These Rough Economic Times:

Instead of waiting for advertisers to contact you, go out and find some! A great start would be Sitepoint’s WTB (Want To Buy) section where you will find many advertisers and webmasters wanting advertisements and links. Another way to contact potential advertisers is to search Sponsoredreviews’s website for people wanting to buy posts in your niche, and then simply contact them via email.

Propose link exchanges with fellow bloggers, either graphical or textual. Brad and SimplyWp.net have done this, as you can see on my sidebar. Its a simple process of contacting another person in your niche and exchanging details. You both gain a backlink, exposure, and tap into each other’s visitor stream.

Affiliate marketing. Choose a product and start promoting it! You usually get paid via Cost Per Action, Cost Per Click or Cost Per Lead.

Self-Fill. Have a couple other websites? Fill in the adspace with ads from your different websites. This makes your site appear to have sponsors, which entices other people to purchase some. When they do, just knock off a “Self-Filler” ad and replace it with a real sponsor.

Important Note:

Whatever you do, do not leave 8 spaces open saying “Advertise here”. A quote from DirectSalesWebMarketing.com:

Those blogs that have anywhere between two and TEN 125×125 ad spots that simply say, “ADVERTISE HERE“, right out there for the world to see. I’ve even seen some use FLASH!

Aye Curumba.

Do you know how it looks to potential advertisers? BAD. Real bad. Amateurish in the least, but D-E-S-P-E-R-A-T-E at it’s worst.ou

This couldn’t be more correct – People have a “following” mentality when it comes to the internet. What I mean by this is that if people see a large number of RSS Subscribers, they are more likely to subscribe. If people see 6 ad spots from different sponsors, they are more likely to purchase one.

How is your blog dealing with the economic crisis? Are your profits slowing, or coming to a complete stand still?

Optimized Overshadowed Wordpress Theme

Thanks for subscribing to my RSS feed! href="http://bradblogging.com/article-readability/how-simple-is-your-advertise-page/">advertising is a great way to broaden your audience and expand your reach. It provides unparalleled attention to your graphic & website that can be used for one of two things:

Branding your identity, or;

Converting the interested visitor to a subscriber, person who leaves comments, etc.

So without further adieu, here is the point of this post – I would like to ask your opinion on which graphic you think would attract your click (Not Branding – At least not yet <img

It’s called advertising on the sidebar of other blogs. I bought an ad already on Dablogger.com today for $7 (Which I might add is a pretty good deal). I’m going to see how much promotion the advertisements and guest posts actually give to the blog.. noting the subscribers and traffic that is currently running through the site.

I’m currently hunting the blogosphere to find great deals on ad spaces, so if you know of any, comment below and I’ll take a little look.

Another strategy to increase blog promotion throughout the internet is guest posting. This method I think is a great way to promote your blog as you have the X amount of subscribers on the certain blog reading your post, along with any traffic that the blog post brings in from Social Media and Search Engines.

If you need some guest posts on your blog, and want me to write one, please leave a comment or contact me

This last post will tell you how to make those new advertisements look good from the start to the finish. In this post, we will find out two little tweaks that we can do to our advertisements to add that extra touch. Specifically, we will learn how to:

Remove the blue picture borders and

Add “ALT” tags to help your advertisers with S.E.O.

Open The Links In New Tabs, So visitors don’t leave your website

Blue Borders – Be Gone!

To remove the blue picture borders, you must see where you have your picture url and add a border=”0″ property to it. Thus making the browser realize that it doesn’t have to have a hyperlinked border, and removes it entirely. As an example, I will use one of my advertisers codes to show you:

<img src=”http://bradblogging.com/wp-content/…/125×125-b.gif” border=”0″ />

The URL is where my picture is located, and right after it is where I would insert the border property, creating the obvious change. Here is the same pictures, one with the border property above, and the other without it (Screenshoted Earlier)…

Show Your Advertisers You Care, Add an ALT Tag.

The second thing to make an advertiser happy is to add “ALT” tags to increase their S.E.O. ranking. To do this simple step, just go to where you will link to the advertisers website and add alt=”Whatever their tagline or website motto is”.. Again I will use an advertisers example to do this:

<a href=”http://www.submit2please.com/” alt=”Manual directory submission service” >

The A href is a link, obviously. The alt will help the googlebot associate those keywords with the website that you are linking to.

Don’t Lose That Visitor, Open In Another Tab!

Finally, to make the interested person not leave your website and let them visit an advertiser, simply add a target=”_blank” after the ALT tag. Example:

<a href=”http://www.submit2please.com/” alt=”Manual directory submission service” target=”_blank” >

So hopefully after reading this series, you have learned a little (or a ton) more than you knew about advertising at the start. Perhaps now you will be able to sell those spots better/faster than you could before. If you missed the entire series, simply keep scrolling down, to read it in reverse order!!
<p
