Great Visitors Success With Stumbleupon

StumbleuponAfter my initial experiment with this program, I’ve realized what a great traffic source this could be. As promised the post about Stumbleupon would appear soon.

Stumbleupon is run entirely by its users. People can submit interesting content that they like for the rest of the world to discover. What many people don’t know about is that it can be used to drive traffic to your site. That’s what this post is going to talk about today and how you can use this to your advantage. Not only will I provide how to get traffic to your site at first, I will provide interesting tips that many people have not thought about yet. By being the first to use these you’ll be able to start a trend that can only be used to help you. I have used these tips and have been able to reel in 157 new visitors in 24 hours.

Here is a summary list in case you do not want to read all the content:

  1. short descriptive titles
  2. description from your page
  3. asking for a thumbs-up from friends and family
  4. placing a “Stumble-This” link or graphic at the bottom of your post
  5. Make friends on the Stumbleupon Website – They can look at your stumbles and what you find interesting

The most crucial part of an article submitted to this program is its title if it’s not interesting that you probably shouldn’t have it on there in the first place. Some tips for better results using titles are to use uncommon words, keep it short and sweet, and letting the reader know what your article is about. Next comes the description, usually to get great results I would always take it excerpt from your page so the reader will know exactly what your post is about. When choosing a category, I would put it under the main generic topic of “blogs” because it’s right on the front page and saves you time from scrolling down the list.

Another strategy to use would be to create an small e-mail lists of your friends and fellow bloggers, so that you could gain a “Thumbs-up” from them, instantly allowing more people to discover your article. The more thumbs up you have, the more people will come. Another thing to remember is that if you make friends on Stumbleupon, they can see what you like!

Asking for a stumble at the end of the post is a good idea as well! So If you’ve enjoyed this, then please stumble this so others may as well!
