Easy and Fast Way to Lower Alexa Ranking
Now that you have a great amount of traffic coming from Stumbleupon (Which by the way brought in 4 more subscribers, 241 Unique Visitors, and 387 PageViews since yesterday), you might still desire a higher Alexa Traffic Ranking as it is judged by most advertisers. Lets look at a brief history of Alexa before we divulge into strategies to get it in the hundred thousand range or less!
Alexa was created in 1996 to enable users to give websites a specific “Popularity” by visiting websites. Their first toolbar was created in 1997 which included site links, related links, access to achieved pages, and an Instant Messenger (Maybe the first of its kind?). With a huge jump in the time-line Alexa grows to have indexed over 100TB of data, covering 4.5 Billion websites. Pretty Impressive for a traffic indexer!
Now the main focus of this post is to increase your Alexa Traffic Ranking using a website called SmileyTraffic.com. In order for this to work, you need to have the Alexa Traffic Widget on your site and the link is provided. Now this site gives you around 200-300 hits per day, if you use it correctly. If you leave your computer running on “Auto-Surf”, it generates credits for you to use on your website..Driving traffic to your blog! With every person that visits this place, the Widget is pinged to Alexa and you should get an increase within the next update. The only problem with this is that it uses a “Auto-Surf” feature and the people do not actually have to look at your site. Never the less, This can be used for any website or blog and is free to use. What do you have to lose?
This strategy is the easiest to use. With Stumbleupon and WebsiteTraffic.cc bringing visitors to your site you should see a major boost in your rank. Tomorrow, we will look at Digg and if its actually worth putting on your website for the amount of traffic that you could receive. If you find this article helpful or interesting, consider stumbling it so that others may enjoy it as well!

If you depend on link or site selling as a form of monetization you will definitely want to increase your Alexa rank, because it will increase your bargaining power when it comes to ad pricing.
