Open Visitor Discussion: Blogging Questionaire

Brad Blog Visitor Question Mark Questionaire

I’ve decided to ask my visitors a simple question, in anticipation of their responses.

  1. What Drives the Most Traffic To Your Site?? (Excluding the most likely obvious network: Stumbleupon)
  2. Do you include social network icons at the bottom of your posts?
  3. If yes to question 2, how many?
  4. On an average week, how many “Organic” hits from Google do you receive?
  5. Finally, How do you plan to improve on those statistics. (EG – Broader Keywords, Diverse Blog Posts, etc)

    1. Other than SU, my biggest source is direct hits to my blog THEN DP forums THEN Google traffic2. Yes.3. One, to StumbleUpon4. >1005. Writing more social media content + [trying to] target the long tail.Now I demand you publish me as a case study!

    1. Aside from SU, most of my visits are from Google searches and referring sites related to the topic of my site, WordPress.2. and 3. I only include an SU link. I previously included 15 social bookmarking links, but SU was by far the most popular and rewarding. Also, it made my posts look cleaner and less like I was begging for visitors. (by the way if you visit my site, please be sure to share on SU)…:)4. I am a constant Analytics checker. I try and study the keywords, but I also study the searches right on my site. When I see searches on my site that return no results, I try and write a post to address exactly that topic.

    I think it’s direct traffic and Blogcatalog…
    And to #2, currently no I do not.
    Organic traffic varies from week to week… but so far this month, it’s around 150-200?
    And improving those stats… well, hard work, of course.  Plus, I’m all over the place so I’m quickly building my readership!

    2. -> Yes
    3. -> Four. They are Stumble Upon, Digg, Technorati, Del.icio
    Right now my primary aim is to have a good content on my site.? If content is good, traffic will some automatically. Of course you need to incorporate few important keywords as well to enhance the traffic level.

    Currently my main source of traffic is google. I also spend some time each day answering questions on yahoo answers, and then linking to a post of mine that relates to the question asked.Currently I am not receiving very much traffic. My site is relatively new, and I think in time it will start to raise itself. I receive anywhere from 10 to 50 hits a day. I’d like to put those into the thousands.
