Can you Rely on Akismet for Spam Safety?
After logging into my blog this morning to check what had happened over night, I saw that no comments had been typed and were awaiting moderation, but there were 3 supposed spam comments. Curious to see what this Akismet program found worth putting a spam label on them, I clicked on it.
I was shocked and disgusted to see two of my readers comments simply labelled spam! Reference the picture for more information:
This really questions my motives as to why I am using this program to “protect” me from spam. This isn’t the first time it has happened either!
If I’m going to have to do this every time I see some “Spam” in the trash bin, what good is this program? I mean yes, it does get rid of the obvious bot and viral linking abuse, but I don’t want to have to check to be sure…
Have you had any problems with Akismet?
